Scientific Games

Scientific Games is a global lottery and gaming company that sits behind some of the biggest jackpot moments in the world, including Powerball, Mega Millions, and other multi-state lottery games in the regions that use its systems . The company designs and runs the technology that makes those drawings secure, auditable, and reliably on time, while also powering a wide range of instant tickets, draw games, and digital experiences.

Scientific Games provides technology and services to more than 150 lotteries around the globe, including nearly every North American lottery . U.S. lottery sales tracked by the company reached $91 billion in fiscal year 2025, with the company playing a central role in managing both instant scratch games and terminal-based games like Powerball. Beyond the excitement of big jackpots, Scientific Games focuses on integrity, compliance, and data-driven performance, helping lottery operators grow revenue that often funds public education and other state programs.
During my work with Scientific Games, I served as a lead technical writer for the Customer Technical Education department, partnering closely with corporate trainers who supported customers across domestic and international markets. My focus was on creating durable documentation and  assets that extended the value of the existing training programs and supported long-term customer retention.
Across multiple product releases, I created, edited, and maintained seven enterprise help systems using RoboHelp, documenting complex combinations of hardware and software deployed in highly regulated environments. These systems were used across multiple jurisdictions, requiring precision, but also an adherence to localized lottery regulations for that state or country.

I also led the department’s transition from RoboHelp to MadCap Flare, building a clear logistical and financial case for adopting a more modern documentation platform. After approval, I developed two major help systems in Flare, completed formal training, and managed complex content migrations that required hands-on work with CSS, XML, and HTML. This transition improved scalability, maintainability, and the overall quality of the online help experience.

In parallel, I edited and standardized hundreds of pages of technical manuals across more than a dozen documents and contributed significantly to the department style guide, expanding it by approximately 35 percent. The guide was later adopted by other departments, helping establish broader documentation consistency across the the company.

In addition to written content, I led the department on video initiatives, collaborating on scripts, recording voiceovers myself, and ultimately producing  professional training videos in Camtasia. These videos were widely praised for their clarity and polish.
